Abstract

This article aims to contribute to the debate about how entrepreneurial education and the availability of an entrepreneurial environment influence the entrepreneurial intention of students of technological courses. To this end, we chose a Higher Technological Education Institution located in the city of São Paulo that, in partnership with Sebrae, developed an entrepreneurial education program. This is quantitative research, underlined by an exploratory and descriptive study, whose data collection occurred through the application of a questionnaire of entrepreneurial intention, based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, to which elements of the entrepreneurial environment were added. The results indicate that the Institution promotes entrepreneurial intention, based on the programmatic content and the characterization of the entrepreneurial environment, but are not determining factors. Personal attitude is the construct that most affects the entrepreneurial intention of the investigated students. The research validated the concepts and measures adopted, confirming the effectiveness of an academic environment in stimulating entrepreneurial behavior, in a Brazilian regional context, having as sample of students in different stages of learning and insertion in the labor market, highlighting entrepreneurial behavior as a career possibility.
