Abstract

There is a global conjuncture of social and environmental unsustainability in which thecapitalist system of production and human being species are put at risk. The main subjectsdealt by environmentalists and the main dimensions where cultural transformation takes placein society through environmentalism are the conflicts involving science and technology, controlling of time and space, and constructing new identities. Science and technology arecentral tools in this process once innovations in the processing and production of goodsdepend on them. This is where the current situation comes from, for both problems andchange possibilities. A change in the current social thought structurally depends upon achange in the hegemonic scientific-technological paradigms.
